Ameritemp started in 1995 with a focus on Light Industrial Staffing in the Greater Grand Rapids area. We are still located in our original office on 28th st in Cascade. Kim Fettig purchased Ameritemp early in 2007. His focus remained the same – to be a high quality niche player in the Grand Rapids Metro area with an emphasis on Light Industrial, Manufacturing, and Distribution. As a locally owned, independent provider with very low turnover of our staff, we consistently provide a higher level of quality placements.

Ameritemp finds people for General Labor, Semi Skilled, Skilled, and Clerical positions. Many of our customers intend to fill the position with a full time employee. They outsource finding the right individual, and shift risk (Unemployment Insurance, Work Comp, Turnover, etc.) to us as well. After a period of time, the customer is able to permanently hire the individual with no additional cost. The majority of the positions we fill are for temporary periods. In this case, the customer doesn’t know how long the work will last but doesn’t anticipate needing the individual on a permanent basis. However, it is not uncommon that our customer sees the quality of the individuals we are able to find and chooses to find a permanent position for them. We also provide temporary workers who are on assignment at one customer for a long period of time. This allows our customers to reduce costs if necessary without having to do layoffs.

We also provide a Payrolling service. This is where the customer finds the individual through referrals, etc but wants to shift initial risks to us. This service is provided at a discounted rate.

 

 

Getting started with Ameritemp is very easy. We meet at your facilities so we can see where the individuals will be working. We obtain Job Descriptions or help you write them. Then we go to work to find the right individual for you. Often, we find that Chemistry and Personality will be greater indicators to success than a good Job Description/Resume match. This is where the experience of our Recruiters is so valuable. Depending on the urgency and requirements of the position, some customers choose to briefly interview the new candidate, while others allow them to get started as soon as possible. We invoice weekly based on a marked up amount of the individuals hourly rate. The customer is under no commitment to take any candidates or to retain them for any specific length of time.
